Homebrew Challenge 2022

Saturday, Feb 26th: Brewmaster Jon will brew up a basic wort that morning, and you will come with your own five gallon bucket to pick up your batch (11-11:30am). Take it home and do your own hop additions, yeast additions, and any other flavor concoctions you can dream up. Make it your own, and make it delicious.

Monday-Wednesday (April 4th-6th): sometime during business hours you need to drop off your beer—this can be a six pack of bottles or a growler or something like that—enough for 3-5 judges to adequately sample and judge. The judges are meeting on Thursday the 7th, so if your beer is not into our brewery by Wednesday night you will not have a great chance of winning 😉. We will label and number your beer as it comes in and keep it in a cooler until the judging day. **Along with your beer please drop off your recipe with detailed notes, with the style of beer that you are presenting clearly written on top. No personal names on the recipe, please—we will be marking your recipe sheet with the same number as the one we put on your beer.

Saturday, April 9th:  party starts by 11:00am in the lounge—please feel free to bring more samples of your beer to share with others, however much you want to pass around, along with a way to pour/tap your beer if you bring something like a corny keg (as we have limited supplies in that regard for you to use.) Since the judging will already be done, there will be more time at the party to mingle with the judges and get feedback in person, and we can do a better job of highlighting the top three beers and the winner, etc. People can feel free to stay and sample and eat and share for however long they want, but the announcement of the winner will be sometime around noon on the 9th.

Registration:

Spots are limited, so you must register. Tickets are $35 per beer entry (only one entry per person).

The Prize:

The homebrewer deemed the best at his/her craft will be crowned the winner and will get to brew that recipe on our pilot system with Brewmaster Jon and have it on tap at Copper State.
